The Trocchi were very old fountain for animals , they were carved in stone near to the water on different levels so that the water could be always clean by the changing of itself. Now you can find them very seldom in our countryside and many of them are almost in cement. |

Casacce is a place of the 1400 year The name is founded in an old document of Mr. Campolongo ( a landowner of 1400 who lived probably in a place called Casorum seu Casarum) Around the place there are many streets and footroutes probably because it was a very important cross of trading among Assisi , Nocera, Gualdo on one side and Assisi, Gubbio Valfabbrica on the other. In fact Casacce was not only on the border of Assisi land but also on that of Umbria In the Renaissance period Gualdo and Nocera were inclused in the land of Marca Anconetana while Gubbio and Valfabbrica were under the duke of Urbino Saint Francis and his brothers used these streets to reach the towns where they went to take their message of peace and poverty but also the famous brigand Cinicchia for his terrifying deeds. |
